The Bulkley ranks among of the most spectacular steelhead rivers anywhere in British Columbia.  Our operation, is located on a private 80 acre ranch on a high bluff overlooking an inside bend of some of the Bulkley River’s finest and least accessible steelhead water.  The views from the lodge porches are straight downstream with not a neighbor in site and Hudson Bay Mountain out the front deck.

The Fishing

Clients will fish two to a boat with one guide and on average hook one to two fish per day.  Each day the guide will pick up guests to fish another stretch of water or depart by jet boat from our private boat launch.  Dry fly fishing is our primary strength and this is your venue if you have never fished for steelhead--think aggressive steelhead in super shallow water.

Accommodations

Accommodations at the lodge are in a master suite with attached bathroom, a large upstairs bedroom with a view to the river and a guest cabin with a 3 piece ensuite overlooking the river.  The house was built from hand hewn logs in 1921; it is spacious, comfy & has all the comforts & amenities of any of the best steelhead lodges with twice the flexibility to meet your interests.

Rates

$7100 per person/week which includes six days of guided fishing, accommodations, meals at the lodge and wine with dinner.  Not includes is the flight to Smithers, fishing licenses, alcohol and gratuities.

Gear

We recommend an 8/9 weight single hand rod or spey rod with a floating line.  Bring a sinking line, a slow and a heavy sink Type 3,6 or Teeny 200.  Dry fly floatant and a 15 pound leader are also recommended.

Why Trout Creek Lodge

Trout Creek Lodge on the Bulkley is our latest steelhead venue.  The lodge location is hands down the finest anywhere on the river.  We are five minutes by jet boat from both canyons on the Bulkley.  This allows us to beat any boat to the river if desired.  Additionally we have a whitewater jet boat which allows us to access stretches of the Bulkley others simply can’t.  Our guides are all veterans of the business and always willing to help with any aspect of your trip.

Part of the charm to our program is the total privacy of the property and small number of guests.  Our capacity is five guests, but most weeks we run four anglers.  There is not another operation that offers our flexibility and capacity to cater to our guests needs on and off the water.
